On Monday, July 26, 2021, the Lake Alfred City Commission officially declared July 2021 as Lakes Appreciation Month.
The proclamation was received by Ron Schelfo of Ron’s Tackle Box. He said he appreciated the Proclamation, and it was a great honor to accept it. He said it is a constant work in progress with the City Commission and staff to keep our lakes in great condition. He spoke about the ordinance prohibiting leaves and grass clippings to be blown in the road that eventually ended up in the lakes, and also about the installation of the boat ramps throughout the city. He said we have beautiful ramps and fishing piers on all of our lakes now and he appreciated the decisions of the City Commission because it brings a lot of revenue to our city. Thank you.
