Mr. John Duncan has been a resident of the City of Lake Alfred since 2003. He is married with 3 children that all attend school here in the city.
He has previously served on the City’s Board of Adjustments and The Charter Review Committee. Commissioner Duncan was elected to the City Commission April 2011.
Mr. John Duncan is a member and deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Alfred and supports his community as a volunteer for many organizations, Friends of the Library, Little League, Boy Scouts, Polk County Schools, Veterans Organizations, Art and Theater groups.
Mr. John Duncan has completed all three Institute for Elected Municipal Officials (IEMO) Courses. Serves on the Florida League of Cities Urban Administration Policy Committee, Previous Vice Chairman, Currently serving on FLC Blue Ribbon Task Force Technology Committee.
Mr. John Duncan has brought forward many projects to the city that has improved our way of life including the Veterans Memorial, City Hall Art Show, and our city app Lake Alfred 311. He takes pride in being approachable day or night, working to see our residents concerns and ideas are considered and accomplished.
