Board of Adjustments


The Board hears specific variances from appropriate provisions of the Code as will not contrary to the public interest, in cases where literal enforcement of the Code will result in unnecessary hardship for the applicant.

Board Membership

The Board is made up of five regular board members and up to two alternate board members as needed. Each board member is appointed by the City Commission for a term of three years. If you wish to apply, please visit Board and Committees to download an application.


All members must be a resident of the City of Lake Alfred and has resided in the City for no less than one year.
